Hello Helotes 4-H and Ag Booster Families,

We need your help getting our building ready for Fun Nite, along with spring cleaning. See below the list of items we will work on this day. Participation can be counted on your data sheet.

Painting
1. Scrape & sand hallway door trim on the hallway side only (not in the kitchen or restrooms). Get to bare metal. Clean the metal before painting.
2. Paint the hallway door trim.
3. Lightly sand and paint the inside of double back doors.

Cleaning
4. Clean dust from the wall in the big room around the entry hallway doors. When we ground the paint of the door frame the dust clung to the wall. Need a ladder & damp cloth.
5. Clean back double door threshold with soap, water, and scrub brushes.
6. Pull staples & push pins out of the green trim strips in the big room. These are the boards about 6’ off the ground that go all the way around the room.
7. Remove any old tape and string on the walls around the building. These things are left over from renters hanging decorations.

Landscaping
8. Clean the front flower bed – pull weeds, remove trash, and install fresh mulch.
9. Plant flowers in the 2 flowerpots by the front door.
10. Pick up trash around the building & grounds, including around the perimeter fence.
11. Weed-eat & clean up around BBQ pit & outside HVAC units. Throw out the junk.
12. Trim trees as needed
13. Rake & dispose of leaves in the dumpster
14. Sweep and/or blow off the sidewalks & back porch
15. Pressure wash sidewalks and back porch

What – Jobs for handy folks who can complete these projects on their own.

Kitchen
16. Nothing planned at this time

Bathrooms
17. Remove any unused wall anchors, patch & paint holes.
18. Remove and replace locks, coat hangers, and toilet paper holders in stalls as needed
19. 3rd stall door in women’s restroom drags, can we adjust? In the past I have ground the hardware down but it needs a better solution.
20. Install new hangers on the men’s room stall dividers. The dividers are pulling from the wall. We have the parts.

Storage Closet
21. Nothing planned at this time

Front room
22. Clean bugs out of the lights.

Big Room & Hallway
23. Help the willing workers to caulk & paint hallway door trim with oil based paint.
24. Replace any burned out fluorescent lights with LEDs. This job requires electrical skill and is a lot easier with a helper.
25. Clean bugs out of the lights.
26. Paint ceiling vents in the big room. They are rusted & ugly. They cannot be easily removed. Clean them thoroughly, lightly sand as needed. Use masking paper & tape to protect the surrounding ceiling and drop clothes on the floor. Turn off the HVAC system and spray paint.

Outside
27. Cut off the old chain at the walk through gate between Cornyval and our land in the far southeast corner. Mark Haverkorn already installed a new chain and lock. The old locks do not function.
28. Paint the main gates.
29. Install hose hangers on the exterior of the building instead of reels. The reels are difficult to use and break easily.
